Editorial Product Manager

Content is core to the print and digital solutions of Sanoma, and a strong driver of their success and growth. Being at the heart of these operations and workflows, we are looking for an Editorial Product Manager to manage the vision and roadmap of their content workflow chain and processes. Key-users of the editorial tooling are authors and content editors who are creating content for folio (print) and digital products that are distributed to the classrooms throughout Europe. As Editorial Product Manager you work closely with the Editorial Chief Product Officer and the six local editorial Product Managers within the publishing companies in creating the overall vision for the editorial domain and the editorial tooling involved. You serve as an intermediate in communicating and safeguarding the editorial vision to the local Product Managers and the Development teams.

Job description

As Editorial Product Manager you are responsible for the end-to-end success of the editorial domain within the Six Sanoma Learning companies, throughout Europe. You:

  • Contribute to the vision and strategic objectives for the editorial domain, including a longer term roadmap for harmonization of editorial and royalty tooling across the various publishing companies and alignment to future digital platform ambitions;
  • Support the Editorial Chief Product Officer and the local Product Managers in being able to communicate and share the vision;
  • Create an effective and good collaborating Editorial Product Management team for managing the funneling and prioritization of epics on the European backlog;
  • Serve as a first point of contact for the local editorial Product Managers regarding their local needs and development;
  • Provide insights to the Editorial Chief Product Officer and the local Product Managers about the benefits to be gained and the value to be created within the scope of future product releases;
  • Measure the benefit hypothesis of the products delivered and report the outcomes / conclusions to relevant stakeholders;
  • Support the SAFe and Agile way-of-working within the portfolio layer of the editorial domain and within the Editorial Product Management team;
  • Build a strong relationship with the delivery team and work together on identifying how to best deliver the tooling leveraging external and internal components.

Job requirements

  • Independent thinker, strong influencer and dares to challenge the status quo;
  • Result oriented, excellent collaborator and highly organization sensitive;
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and 5+ years of experience working in a similar rol, preferably in the editorial domain
  • You have a good market focus based on gained professional experience;
  • Able to operate as a strong sparring partner for stakeholders within the editorial domain;
  • Proven prioritizing skills within complex international business environments;
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
  • Having good project management skills is desirable.
